Tufting

Adam Carpets then start to manufacture the carpet on our modern tufting machines.

We use some of the best tufting machines within the UK. Many of our machines are fitted with a straight needle bar. This means that only the best yarn can be used. To fit through the needles, the yarn must be of a consistent thickness, a sure sign of quality. These machines are used to make Castlemead Twist, Wyre Forest and Inspirations in particular.

Some of our other machines have a double needle bar. This has means that the two bars can cross over each other and leaves the carpet with a superior finish. These machines are used to make Fine Worcester Twist and Fine Upland Twist.

The advantage of using beams once again means that instead of having the machines tied up for 2 to 3 days on one colour, we can tuft our colours over 2-3 hours, making it more efficient to have a large colourbank.

As mentioned previously, Fine Worcester Twist and Castlemead twist have 65 and 60 colours respectively. This is more than three times some of our competitors.
