Take The Tour part 4

The hanks are dyed in vats, large or small depending on the volumes required.

The hanks are then spun to get as much water out of the yarns as possible (think of a spin dryer on its side, but much bigger!). The hanks are then loaded onto rollers (which continuously rotate) and are then put through an oven at over 130 degrees.

The hanks are rotated so that they they are dried evenly, otherwise all the moisture would drop to the bottom of the hank.
