If you want to know what makes us special, have a look at the photos below. Whilst many companies only make Twist carpets, some Loop carpets and some Pattern carpets, at Adam we can do it all! Not only that, but today we are doing it all on the same day.

A quick walk through the factory and I spotted Martinique (loop) on one machine, the next had Inspirations (Pattern Overtuft), then we had Fine Worcester (Twist), after that was Castlemead Velvet (Stripe), followed by Marquette Plaid (Pattern Graphic), finishing with some Castlemead Twist.

No other carpet manufacture can come close to that range of diversity. That’s what makes Adam Carpets, well………….Adam Carpets!

Take a look at the carpet, it’s an Axminster right?

Actually no it isn’t. It is one of our commercial overtuft products that we recently installed into Salisbury & South Wilts Golf Club via Magic Carpets of Salisbury.

The Golf Club was looking for a pattern carpet for their new function room. A carpet that would stand up to the most demanding wear. After looking through various woven options, they were introduced to our overtuft product. Our specification was to their approval and we designed the carpet to their needs.

The carpet arrived on time and on budget. A price well below that of a similar designed Axminster alternative.

Here are some photos of the installation:

A piece of Adam Carpets history has turned up in an auction in Ontario, Canada.

We were contacted by the purchaser, Karen Farrell, who wanted to find out a little more about her purchase and about us. We set to work immediately armed with some images that Karen had sent to us.

These pictures revealed that it was an axminster range we produced in the early 1970’s called Smada. ‘Smada’ being ‘Adams’ spelt backwards. It was a very popular carpet during that period. We believe that the carpet in question was made in 1974, some 38 years ago!

Karen explained ‘The carpet is a perfect match for my home which is circa 1870. When I read the history of carpet manufacturers in Kidderminster, I got really interested in the history of manufacturing and of the companies involved. I also wanted to find out a little more about the history of my carpet.’

We are glad Karen got in touch and we were able to help. The carpet still looks great today.

Below are the pictures of Karen’s carpet.

Here are a selection of photos from one of our most recent commercial projects. We were asked to make three designs in two colours for cabins for a Cruise Ship. This was a repeat order and is to be used in a refurbishment of the ship. As we can manufacture very low volumes, 200 sq/m of each colour in this case, the client enjoyed a good price and a short lead time.

Going through the overtuft machine.

Closer inspection prior to backing and shearing. Note the raised colour tufts.

Second colour enters the backing line.

After backing and shearing, the carpet goes across the final inspection table.
