We recently received this lovely email from one of customers., Mrs. Yvonne Finlay. It is always great to hear such wonderful feedback. It reinforces our belief that by using the finest raw materials, we can create a carpet that stays looking better for longer. Not all wool twists are the same.

I as a customer purchased your Castlemead Twist carpet seventeen years ago. It has worn brilliantly. We are so pleased with the wear it has given us as a family in our home. Everyone who visits our house comments on it and can’t believe the time it has been down. We have just relayed the hall in Castlemead Velvet Stripe ‘Black Ice’ (CVS02) and also the master bedroom in Castlemead Twist ‘Oyster Shell’ (CD90). We’re now looking to complete the rest of the house with the same carpet.

Well done to a excellent product. I was wondering if you could send me some samples of Castlemead Twist in shades of blue and red for my sons bedroom.

Thank you Mrs. Finlay once again. Here are the carpets she has in her home.

Take a look at the carpet, it’s an Axminster right?

Actually no it isn’t. It is one of our commercial overtuft products that we recently installed into Salisbury & South Wilts Golf Club via Magic Carpets of Salisbury.

The Golf Club was looking for a pattern carpet for their new function room. A carpet that would stand up to the most demanding wear. After looking through various woven options, they were introduced to our overtuft product. Our specification was to their approval and we designed the carpet to their needs.

The carpet arrived on time and on budget. A price well below that of a similar designed Axminster alternative.

Here are some photos of the installation:

A piece of Adam Carpets history has turned up in an auction in Ontario, Canada.

We were contacted by the purchaser, Karen Farrell, who wanted to find out a little more about her purchase and about us. We set to work immediately armed with some images that Karen had sent to us.

These pictures revealed that it was an axminster range we produced in the early 1970’s called Smada. ‘Smada’ being ‘Adams’ spelt backwards. It was a very popular carpet during that period. We believe that the carpet in question was made in 1974, some 38 years ago!

Karen explained ‘The carpet is a perfect match for my home which is circa 1870. When I read the history of carpet manufacturers in Kidderminster, I got really interested in the history of manufacturing and of the companies involved. I also wanted to find out a little more about the history of my carpet.’

We are glad Karen got in touch and we were able to help. The carpet still looks great today.

Below are the pictures of Karen’s carpet.

Fine Worcester Twist celebrates its 21st Birthday in July. First made back in 1991, this iconic carpet started out with just 20 colours and in one width.

Since then we have added more and more colours bringing the total up to an astonishing 65. In 1992, we also added the option of a 5m width. At the time we were the first UK manufacturer to offer 5m wide carpet.

Fine Worcester continues to be the premier twist available today and if you ask your local retailer, you may well find they have some fitted in their own homes!

In 2011, Adam Carpets showed their commitment to investing in the long term with the launch of over 60 new designs and colours into the market. In 2012 further investment is starting with the launch of a new company logo and website.

Managing Director, Chris Adam, explained the thinking behind the change.

“This new branding is evolution rather than revolution. We are showing by keeping it in Green, that we are proud of our history and what we have achieved in the past.”

He went on, “We are now evolving the brand. By making the Green softer we are appealing to the female consumers who are historically the decision makers in terms of fashion and trends within household furnishings.”

The new logo features the A in ‘Adam’ sweeping into the D, signifying the design and style for which Adam Carpets are renowned.
